Large diatomite is excellent stuff for growing orchids which hate traditional potting mixes around their roots. It's great for growing vandas and ascocendas in pots when hanging baskets are not possible. It's also great for adding a little bulk to the bottom of pots (instead of peanuts) without adding too much matter. Larger rocks provide good air flow between them, while still providing excellent moisture retention, and all the mineral qualities of diatomite! 1 loose gallon |
