We've done some creative repotting for customers at our retail shop, and have come up with some pretty interesting mixes. One that we have used many times, with excellent results, is our Sphagnum Moss Mix. This is a combination of AAA+ New Zealand Sphagnum Moss (the best available), large perlite, and coarse tree fern fiber. The moss retains moisture, while the perlite and tree fern fiber maintain good air flow, and keep the moss from compacting around sensative orchid roots. This is perfect mix for Phalaenopsis, and most assuredly for hanging net and vanda baskets. We've had amazing success with Gongora and Stanhopea in this mix. Try it.. you'll like it! 2 gallons |
